* Ukrainian, was born on July 1, 1966 in the village of Roztochky, Dolyna district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. From 1973 to 1983 studied at Dolyna Secondary Boarding School. In 1983 became a student of the philological faculty of the Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical Institute. From 1985 to 1987 served in the Mountain Rifle Regiment of the Armed Forces.
