The laboratory was established in 1993. It operates at the Department of Histology and Medical Biology of the Medical Faculty.

Morphometric research methods (Zen ZEISS program);
3D reconstruction method based on serial micropreparations (Amira program);
Embryological research methods (experimental incubation of embryos of fish, amphibians, and reptiles).

MicroBlue laboratory microscope;
Biolam R-1 microscope;

MOY-16 ocular micrometer;
Object micrometer;
Drying table for micropreparations;
Professional set for manual histological staining DiaPath;
Histological staining battery for micropreparations (Helenadechel cup set);
Drying oven, thermostats, scales, laboratory glassware, chemicals, dyes;
3D reconstruction equipment based on serial histological sections (computer, Wacom graphic tablet, software);
Specialized software for morphometric measurements;
Aquariums with equipment.
The laboratory has necessary collections of Scientific Collection of Histological Preparations and Educational Collection of Histological Preparations histological and cytological preparations.

Study of the morphology of the nervous system of vertebrates.
Morphogenesis and comparative morphology of the olfactory organ in vertebrates.
Features of the cytoarchitecture of the human olfactory bulbs.
Comparative morphology of the structures of the olfactory analyzer in micro- and macrosmatic species.

Scientific Events and Career Guidance Activities

- On March 21, 2023, the training workshop "Day with Scientists" was held, where attendees of the regional Nature School, "Young Doctors" branch of the Volyn Ecological and Naturalistic Center had the opportunity to communicate with scientists and learn about the research activities of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Histology and Morphogenesis.
- On May 18, 2023, laboratory staff actively participated in the event during the Medical Faculty Week "HEALTH CAMP" - university camp: "Health and Mental Well-being: How to Take Care of Yourself During the War".
- Student Kоротка Оксана, a member of the student scientific histological club, gave a presentation "Modern Methods of Diagnosis and Treatment of Skin Diseases. A Morphologist's Perspective" at the plenary session of the XVII International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Postgraduates "Young Science of Volyn: Priorities and Prospects of Research".
