The Laboratory of Gender Studies was established in Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University at the Department of Political Science, Management and State Security in 2005. University scientists and students develop scientific articles and theses. The results of scientific research are included in the following works: reports, manuals, public speeches, round tables, conference abstracts, etc.

1. To promote gender research at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University
2. To popularize the idea of gender equality, non-discrimination among the participants of the educational process at Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka through educational activities.
3. Get involved in gender-based activities in Volyn region and Ukraine.
Background and shifts in policy
The introduction of gender equality is a topical issue for Ukraine. Gender equality should be a principle of activity in the university environment. An important achievement was the adoption in 2020 of a university-wide policy - Regulations on the procedure and procedures for resolving conflict situations at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
The Regulation defines the procedure and procedures for resolving conflict situations in the following areas: 1) resolving situations in the event of a conflict of interest; 2) observance of human rights on the grounds of race, religion, counteraction to gender discrimination; 3) conflict resolution in the educational process; 4) counteraction to sexual harassment, bullying and conflict resolution in interpersonal relationships of educational subjects.
